Okay, they’re not gold but you can win gold medals at the Olympics. I gather the 5 rings represent the five inhabited continents: Africa, America, Asia, Europe, and Oceania.
The colours are those included on every flag every competing country’s flag at the time of its inception in 1913 and are not representative of the skin colour of the nations!
Although given the skin colour of the blue man in the image later perhaps it could be.
By the way the International Olympic Committee (IOC) which organises the Olympics is based in Switzerland where other organisations that we love are based such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Economic Forum (WEF).
And CERN, with another ‘ring’, the Hadron Collider.
The last Olympics in 2020 in Tokyo was postponed to 2021 due to stupidity, sorry I mean COVID 19, when everybody who lost their collective minds thought they would die if they got together to watch the games in person.
Anyway, whilst I might do a backward glance at the Tokyo games later, today I thought I would have a look at the controversy which surrounded the opening ceremony.
Olympic chiefs ‘sorry’ opening ceremony caused offence
28 July 2024
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/articles/cw4yqvegkexo
The IOC, the International Olympic Committee, in its wisdom thought that drag artists and a large lesbian would be a great way to entertain the public, and no doubt to get them used to the possibility of transgendered men and women competing at some stage.
Although there have been questions about ‘female’ boxers, Imane Khelif from Algeria and Lin Yu-ting from Taiwan.
It says
Khelif and Lin have competed for years in women’s events, including at the pandemic-delayed Tokyo Olympics, and there is no indication that they identify as transgender or intersex, the latter referring to people born with sex characteristics that do not fit strictly into the male-female gender binary.
This is Khelif.

Imane Khelif will anagram to ‘if he manlike’ and ‘feel akin man’.
Certainly manlike I would say.
This is Yu-ting.

Lin Yu-ting will anagram to ‘guy nil nit’ for example. I also find ‘lying unit’ and ‘innit ugly’. Hmm…
Of course, there have been issues in the past over female athletes who seemed rather more male than they should have been with the use of performance enhancing drugs.
Anyway, back to the ceremony controversy. According to the BBC
A banquet sequence featuring drag artists in particular came in for criticism from Christian groups, who felt it parodied Leonardo da Vinci’s painting ‘The Last Supper’.
Various groups have criticised it, even those who are not Christians have thought it insulting. This includes Muslims it seems.
Controversy Erupts at Olympics: Muslim Leaders Condemn ‘Offensive’ Display
Published Jul 31, 2024
https://www.newsweek.com/olympics-opening-ceremony-last-supper-muslim-leaders-response-1932766
It says for example
On Tuesday, the supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, slammed the act for the “insults” against Jesus Christ in a statement posted to X.
“Respect for #JesusChrist … is an indisputable, definite matter for Muslims,” Khamenei, who has held his position since 1989, wrote. “We condemn these insults directed at the holy figures of divine religions, including Jesus Christ.”
However
The ceremony’s artistic director, Thomas Jolly, said there was no intention to “mock or denigrate anyone” and explained the scene in question was designed to reference pagan gods.
Presumably he thought it was all a ‘Jolly Good Idea’. However, this is at odds with the official line from Paris 2024 according to his Wikipedia page.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Jolly
This is him.

The link says
A statement from Paris 2024 said that it was inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s fresco The Last Supper, which depicts Jesus and the Twelve Apostles, while Jolly held it to represent “a pagan feast linked to the gods of Olympus”.
Before that it explains that
Thomas Jolly presented an artistic staging, structured around a series of 12 tableaux, designed to be inclusive and representative of France, declaring “Above all, I want this ceremony to include everyone. We must all celebrate this diversity”.
Or else.
Responding to the criticism in a press conference, Jolly stated that “We wanted to include everyone, as simple as that. In France, we have freedom of creation, artistic freedom. We are lucky in France to live in a free country. I didn’t have any specific messages that I wanted to deliver. In France, we are a republic, we have the right to love whom we want, we have the right not to be worshippers, we have a lot of rights in France, and this is what I wanted to convey”.
It was one tableau of 12 and I have to say I have not seen them. However, I wonder when he says ‘everyone’ whether he understands how stupid that sounds.
As for representative of France, well I think of wine and cheese, beautiful countryside, small towns and grand cities.
And large families with lots of cousins and kissing on both cheeks.
And the use of polite terms to everyone like ‘Monsieur’ and ‘Madame’.
Not a bunch of mad dames flaunting themselves. But perhaps he thinks this is part of what France is, turned over to paganism.
He says in France we have a lot of rights. Well, I am saying something similar to what I have said before, but for a left wing leaning country they do love their rights!
He says ‘…we have the right to love whom we want…’ but this ignores the words of Jesus Christ to ‘love your enemies’ not just those we want to.
He has been attacked on line for being Jewish, which he says he is not, and homosexual which he apparently is. Which would explain his love for the drag queens.
I have just checked and see he was born in February 1982 which makes him 42 years old. Well, wouldn’t you know, the ultimate answer to all questions again as per The Hitch Hiker’s Guide.
He was appointed artistic director for both the opening and closing ceremonies so one wonders what he has in mind for the latter.
I can’t get much out his name but there is the single word anagram ‘homo’. There is also this phrase.
- Oh jot mal sly
I think this describes him.
Back to the BBC article it says also
“Clearly there was never an intention to show disrespect to any religious group,” Paris 2024 spokeswoman Anne Descamps told reporters on Sunday.
“On the contrary, I think Thomas Jolly did try to intend to celebrate community tolerance. We believe this ambition was achieved. If people have taken any offence, we of course are really sorry.”
‘Mais du fromage dur, mon pote’. That’s a bit of Franglais by the way meaning ‘But hard cheese, mate.’
I think Anne is being a scamp, justifying the camp tableau. I note that ‘Anne Descamps’ anagrams to ‘mad Pan scenes’. You could hardly make this up.
Jolly told French broadcaster BFM: “The idea was to do a big pagan party linked to the gods of Olympus.
And to remind us of the pagan roots of the Olympics no doubt. I guess the large lesbian helped reinforce the ‘big’ part.
“You’ll never find in my work any desire to mock or denigrate anyone. I wanted a ceremony that brings people together, that reconciles, but also a ceremony that affirms our Republican values of liberty, equality and fraternity.”
Right, republican values of being free to produce something of low quality for the fraternity. Which is sexist as fraternity is ‘brotherhood’ despite what some people may think. What about the sorority, the sisterhood?
However, I gather he did do a separate tableau for that.
Mentioning sorority, I see ‘sororities’ anagrams to ‘I Soros rite’. This is the sort of thing George Soros loves.
https://www.opensocietyfoundations.org/voices/giving-trans-activism-support-it-deserves
Nevertheless perhaps fraternity is suitable as it anagrams to ‘err fatty in’, the fatty being the large lesbian in the middle of the picture.
Here’s a link which expands on what Thomas Jolly said.
Jolly said on Saturday religious subversion had never been his intention.
“We wanted to talk about diversity. Diversity means being together. We wanted to include everyone, as simple as that,” he told reporters on Saturday.
I suppose we have a translation from French, his native language, but he is a cretin. Diversity means different, not together, the man is a moron.
That’s the artistic director covered, but what about the large lesbian?
The central figure in the scene is Leslie Butch. She is as you can see rather large and rather butch. She has a Wikipedia page.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_Butch
In full she is Leslie Barbara Butch and I gather is Jewish.
Her mother, a secretary of Ashkenazi Jewish descent and her father a house painter, was of Sephardic Jewish descent from Morocco Heidi, and she grew up in a traditional Jewish family.
She is a disc jockey and says this about herself.
DJ Barbara Butch: ‘I’m a fat, Jewish, queer lesbian, and I’m really proud’
22 June 2023
She says
My great-grandmother always told me that, ‘Everyone is beautiful; every body is beautiful.’” This message is one that Barbara Butch has carried with her since childhood. The French DJ, lesbian activist and body-positivity advocate has weathered homophobia, fatphobia and two abusive relationships over her 42 years.
The two abusive relationships were with her girlfriends.
She says in the link she is a fat, Jewish, queer lesbian and proud of it. Really? I wonder. I see that the two longest single words we can anagram from ‘fat, Jewish, queer lesbian’ are
– Sequesterable – able to be remote, difficult to get to, withdrawn from society
– Unsatisfiable
She has tattoos, which are a sign of identity with something else and spoil the skin.
Her name will anagram to some suitable phrases:
She is a DJ you can book for parties.
– Hail a breast clubber
Rather like the Queen of Sheba (Sheba is in her name) she considers herself ‘fat but comely’, a version of Lauren Bacall perhaps
– As her tubbier Bacall
Or Barbara Bach maybe (N.B. Thomas Bach is the president of the IOC)
– brr all Bach beauties
She has posed naked for a magazine
– I all barebreast chub
But her ‘art’ is of Baal
– Baals art bile cherub
She is on the left in her views and has been hurt
– A CS liberal hurt babe
But maybe in her heart she really hates being so large
– Hates racial blubber
And like many girls would be a ballet dancer
– Is ballet Arab cherub
She would be a beautiful star
– A chubbier bella star
And be treasured
– BA babe chill treasure
In her Wikipedia article she reasonably asks ‘Why do we reject fat people?’ In some cultures being fat is seen as a good thing, such as being ‘comfortably built’.
But in the context of the Olympics the games are about fitness and physique, the motto once being ‘Faster, Higher, Stronger’, but now since 2021 ‘Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together’.
Given the drag artist ceremony I would say ‘Fatter, Hornier, Stranger – Together’ would be more what they are after!
As regards the man in blue he is supposed to represent Dionysus a.k.a. Bacchus, and according to Wikipedia the
Thracian-Greek god of wine-making, vegetation, fertility, festivity, religious ecstasy, and theatre.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dionysus
These are some anagrams of Dionysus.
– yi sounds
– noisy sud
– sin us yod
– yo dins us
– sod us yin
They remind me of Shakespeare’s phrase from Macbeth “It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”
The wiki entry also says that
As Dionysus Eleutherius (“the liberator”), his wine, music, and ecstatic dance free his followers from self-conscious fear and care, and subvert the oppressive restraints of the powerful.
I find it fascinating that ‘Dionysus Eleutherius’ has ‘deliriousness’ as the single longest anagram word. One full phrase is
– Ye Hutu deliriousness
Which reminds me of the massacre carried out in Rwanda by armed Hutu militias in 1994. Then there is
– Sure delusionist Huey
The IOC and Thomas Jolly sure are deluding themselves. Is this part of the ‘Great Delusion’ that is written about?
“The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the working of Satan, with every kind of power, sign, and false wonder, and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them. For this reason God will send them a powerful delusion so that they believe the lie, in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness.”
Summary and final thoughts
Whilst I have enjoyed sport on television in the past, I am not one to watch sport now; I would rather be doing it instead.
So following the Olympics is not my cup of tea as we say in England.
As to the brouhaha over the theatre of drag queens and the thespian lesbian being an insult to Christianity, I think the whole thing is absurd. I say that it is just a silly spectacle sending up at best a portrait of the Last Supper.
That in itself is an image of an event and should not be idolised as many seem to do.
I find it all rather ridiculous and sad at the same time that the Olympics, albeit based on the pagan gods in any event, should descend to this.
Those involved in the nonsense are abused children, now adults, who have not grown up and wish to be appreciated and applauded.
It is a cry for love in the end. I dare say it is also a distraction to deflect us from other greater evils going on. And as the following link says
In fact, take a look at what Paul had to say to Timothy regarding this matter. “Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, (2 Tim. 2:23-25).”
And in the words of Jesus:
So He said to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples. “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
The whole presentation was another message that all is not well with the world. We are in a right old mess.
In French ‘messe’ means ‘mass’ as in the celebration by Catholics of the Last Supper. Messe comes from the Latin mesa or mensa meaning ‘table’.
I say there is a way out of this mess and that is the One who presided at the table of the Last Supper, Jesus Christ. As He said
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
So I say to those who follow Christ, stay calm and focused on Jesus and His Word. These events always give an opportunity for the good news of Christ that healing is to be found in Him.
Expose the darkness, do good to those who hate the truth and pray for them that their eyes will be opened.
P.S. By the way, the Hindustani Times says the current Olympic Games are the 33rd. Perhaps a possible masonic link there.
I haven’t counted the number of games but the BBC says so too.

Excellent post!
I couldn't stomach more than 3 minutes of the opening ceremony...
Better others watched and reported on the debacle that it was...
Khelif; not a woman.
Jolly; entirely confused.
Butch; say no more.
I have watched the Olympics constantly...
It's about the athletes, after all.
The rest is bullshit.
bull's eye: 'diversity means different, not together...'. it illustrates that the whole idea of DEI is shaky, as it tries to bring together such complicated words as diversity, equity, inclusion << so of course it won't work, because these terms are mutually exclusive, with the meaning of each word trying to cover for the other two, becoming a genuine word salad. in whose interest is the ensuing confusion, one wonders (didn't you mention Soros?). brouhaha indeed!
