So says the man in the wig.
I am sure you have seen the phrase. It seems to be used by those who slavishly follow the so-called experts, whether it’s COVID or climate change/global warming etc.
What I found interesting is that the phrase if anagrammed exposes how foolish it is. Perhaps it is obvious anyway, but this this may help.

The Blindness of “Following the Science”
Jonathan Pageau
Here are a couple of articles.
The Royal Society
Following the science
17 May 2020
https://royalsociety.org/blog/2020/05/following-the-science
The article is by Venki Ramakrishnan.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venki_Ramakrishnan#
He is supposed to be a British-American structural biologist although he was born in India. As far as I can tell he seems hardly to have spent much time in the UK. Why on earth he was made President of the Royal Society from 2015 to 2020 I don’t know.
Except that
In an interview in July 2018, he said that Britain’s decision to leave the European Union was hurting Britain’s reputation as a good place to work in science, commenting “It’s very hard for the science community to see any advantages in Brexit.
As he is someone with no roots in the UK, he should be quiet in my books.
He further
argued that a no-deal Brexit would harm science. Ramakrishnan wrote, “A deal on science is in the best interests of Europe as a whole and should not be sacrificed as collateral damage over disagreements on other issues. If we are going to successfully tackle global problems like climate change, human disease and food security, we can’t do so in isolation. There is no scenario where trashing our relationships with our closest scientific collaborators in the EU gets us closer to these goals.”
I am of a suspicious nature but I think that a deal on science is in the best interests of scientists and funding some of their ridiculous projects.
As to trashing our relationships with our closest scientific collaborators in the EU, that is plain silly.
Still, what do we expect from him. Read his article and see what I mean. He says
This is a new virus about which we knew nothing just a few short months ago. In record time, SARS-Cov2, the specific coronavirus that caused COVID-19, was identified and sequenced, paving the way for a sensitive test for infections.
I assume he refers to the PCR test which is about as useful as a knife to pick up peas.
We can now identify who has been infected as well as begin to understand the biology of the virus, its infectivity and routes for development for vaccines and therapeutics.
For which read we can now invent cases and pretend that there is an infectious pathogen so we can create more poisonous vaccines and expensive new therapeutics instead of the previous cheap old ones.
This stunningly rapid progress is the result of investment over many decades and the commitment of an army of scientists across the globe.
For which read the result of huge amounts of wasted money, much of it taxpayers’, laundered as it were into the big pharma profiteers pockets.
The army of scientists are some of the evil bastards attacking us of course.
Moreover, there is often no such thing as following “the” science. Reasonable scientists can disagree on important points, but the government still has to make decisions. Take the example of face masks. The gold standard of scientific evidence is the Randomised Control Trial (RCT) – where different groups of similar people are treated differently and the end result is measured. There is hardly any useful RCT evidence on whether face masks are effective in reducing the spread of this or the influenza virus.
One hardly needed RCTs to know that face masks were pointless, but at least he admits there was real basis for requiring them.
However, many practices that we now consider essential for good hygiene, such as washing hands to reduce viral transmissions, or the wearing of masks by surgeons, were not based on RCT evidence.
Which is very reassuring to know that surgeons wore face masks just for the hell of it.
Rather they were based on our understanding of how infections spread.
Which was and is fundamentally flawed.
In the case of COVID-19, we know that you can be infectious even when you do not have any symptoms.
Which is a load of bollox. As I say, one can pass on fungal spores, bacteria, poisons and parasites to a degree but not the so-called virus.
We know that coughing, sneezing, and even talking or breathing release droplets from the mouth that are a key means by which the virus spreads.
Except they don’t know, they just think they know.
We also know that cloth-based face masks reduce the spread of those droplets.
It is true that a cloth-based face mask will reduce droplets somewhat. It will keep them against your face though. How nice.
There is a foot note link to his Wikipedia article. In it The Times of India says
…he failed to clear entrance tests for both the IITs and a reputed medical college.
Ramakrishnan recalled that years later, in 1981, after his post-doctoral, he could not initially find a job even though he had put in 50 applications in different universities (overseas) without success.
No wonder people view with great suspicion those who call themselves scientists.
I see he was born in Chidambaram in the Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu. He is one of two notable people according to the Wikipedia article on the town.
The other is apparently Appayya Dikshita. That sounds very unpleasant but it was 500 years ago.
Venkatraman Ramakrishnan is Venki Ramakrishnan’s full name. It also contains the word ‘shita’ if you anagram it.
500 years for Chidambaram to come up with another ‘shita’. Oh well…

If we are no longer “following the science,” what are we following?
Published 07 April 2022 by Martin McKee, professor of European Public Health
https://www.bmj.com/content/377/bmj.o930
Martin McKee is a member of Independent SAGE. I could try analysing in detail and I might do a separate post. In any event I note that his footnote links justifying his statements include 7 out of 13 which are Guardian articles.
Martin thinks he is a scientist. Mm…
I see his Wikipedia page says
In 2016 he co-founded Healthier IN the EU, a grassroots campaign making the health case for continued UK membership of the European Union.
It is clear where his sympathies lie. He is one of the ‘clown lefties’ that the anagrams expose.
Summary and final thoughts
I hope it is obvious that ‘follow the science’ is an imbecilic phrase which even the anagrams expose.
It is a fool’s paradise, the loony lefties delight, the wolf in sheep’s clothing, a sound bite that might sound right but leads to people blindly walking off the cliff to their destruction as they take the poison vaccines.
It is difficult to choose the best anagram but I do especially like “Clown foe tech lies”.
We have two clowns in Venki Ramakrishnan and Martin McKee, two idiot scientists who I wouldn’t follow if you paid me.
Two people who didn’t think Brexit was a good idea and liked the EU. No doubt they liked the funding it brought to support their foolish ideas.
So if we are not following the science what are we following? As people say, follow the money.
P.S. I found this link which has some things to say about a selection of idiots.
For those that haven’t seen, here is my main Covid 19 summary.
OMG, you had me at “clown lefties echo”! No, wait …“lefties chew colon”!
Funny how we never heard that term until COVID arrived, and now we here it for everything...trans genderism, follow the science, climate change, follow the science. The problem now is that following it takes us straight into a hellholl of DEI lunacy.
