I haven’t done an analysis of a newspaper for a while so in the village shop, I thought I would buy this and have a look see.
It was as anything else a good excuse to get some paper useful for lighting fires and wrapping things up.
Anyway, as usual I select the articles I wish to comment upon in my normal sarcastic manner, or not as the case maybe.
Ex-tory MP joins Ukraine fight
There is a picture of Giacomo "Jack" Lopresti on the front page. He was Conservative MP for Filton and Bradley Stoke, a constituency in the north of Bristol. This is him, his official portrait.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Lopresti
You will be forgiven for thinking that Giacomo Lopresti does not sound English. He is apparently of is of Sicilian ancestry, and worked in his father's ice cream business for over ten years. Italian ice cream is very good I believe.
He has been an estate agent too which is not so good.
He divorced from his former wife Lucy, the daughter of Lord Cope of Berkeley. Jack had an affair with a Conservative colleague and I guess she just couldn’t cope despite her name.
He lost his seat in 2024 and is now serving in the Ukrainian military, in the International Legion. This is not on the front-line as yet although he has said he is willing. He was in the Territorial Army so has had some training and experience.
It is illegal for British citizens to serve in the Ukrainian International Legion, but that hasn’t stopped the UK government giving the Ukraine armaments etc.
According to gov.uk this includes
In total, the UK has committed £12.8 billion for Ukraine:
- £7.8 billion in military support
- £5 billion in non-military support
The costs of living in the UK have gone up substantially but at least one can be assured that, whilst your government does not care about you in the UK (unless you are a Ukrainian), it cares about the Ukraine.
But as I have mentioned before, it does rain in the UK, so perhaps it is all a bureaucrat blunder by civil servants, a case of misplaced geography.
I see the longest single word anagram from his name, Giacomo Lopresti, is ‘oligospermatic’ which has to do with a low sperm count.
But he has had three children so that doesn’t seem right. Unless of course he has had the vaccines then that would now make sense.
Anyway, I think he is mad to go to the Ukraine. As this anagram phrase comes from his name perhaps it was inevitable.
- I go cram loopiest
Rayner to set rules on Islam and free speech
Angela Rayner is planning to set up a council on Islamophobia. Oh, bliss , oh joy another useless council.
She is lining up an ex-Tory minister to lead it. This is Dominic Grieve, known as ‘Remainer in chief’ for his role in fighting for the UK to stay in the EU. Here he is.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominic_Grieve
He wanted a second referendum on Brexit so a traitor to the country in my books. His Wikipedia entry says he is a practising Anglican, whatever that means.
As the phrase anagrams to ‘aligning Satanic cpr’ I am not convinced this is a good thing.
The article says
He chaired the Citizens' UK Commission on Islam, a group which aimed to promote dialogue between Muslim and non-Muslim communities, and wrote a foreword to a controversial all-party parliamentary group's (APPG's) 2018 report which established a definition of Islamophobia, which the Labour Party went on to adopt.
The APPG warns that "Islamophobia is rooted in racism and is a type of racism that targets expressions of Muslimness or perceived Muslimness".
Islam is a religion of course whilst racism is misleading as we are all one human race. The article continues
But the definition has raised concerns over free speech, with opponents warning it is so widely-drawn that it amounts to a de facto blasphemy law and blocks legitimate criticism of Islam.
Conservative shadow justice secretary Robert Jenrick said:
“The Government should drop its plans for such a deeply flawed definition of Islamophobia. Of course we should tackle anti-Muslim hate wherever it occurs, but this definition is a Trojan horse for a blasphemy law protecting Islam.
“Why do Labour MPs think it is acceptable to mock Christianity but not Islam? Time and again this Labour Government displays an Orwellian disregard for freedom of speech.”
And Dominic Grieve has said he will consider the position.
"It depends on what it is and whether I can add value and help the wider public service.
He said regarding his earlier role:
"It was apparent at the time that defining Islamophobia is extremely difficult for perfectly valid reasons relating to freedom of expression."
Quite so. One cannot legislate against hate any more than one can force people to love. I gather
Rayner is also said to be proposing a council on antisemitism, in the face of concerns within the Jewish community that another body is not needed.
Of course all these bodies gives jobs for the boys and girls who support Labour. It also helps encourage support for Labour at a time when I understand Muslim support has been weakening.
The Telegraph article concludes with a spokesman saying
All forms of religious and racial hatred have absolutely no place in our society. The government…are actively exploring a more integrated cohesive approach to tackling racial and religious hatred, including Islamophobia and anti-Semitism.
“Actively exploring” means saying a lot but offering nothing. Jesus says to love one’s enemies and do good to those that hate you. That it the best way to deal with hatred.
I suppose the Labour party would want to deal with hatred. After all red is their colour. Even Angela Rayner wears it.
Mind you, hatred is ‘hat red’ and she has a red dress. Her name is Angela. Whether she is an angel is debatable. But then even the Devil is an angel, albeit a fallen one. He has been portrayed in red too.
As to Dominic Grieve I see his name can anagram to:
in COVID regime
I deceiving ROM
I demonic giver
In fact his full name, Dominic Charles Roberts Grieve, includes the word ‘Devil’. With a surname like Grieve I would say he is grieving the Holy Spirit which is not a good idea.
Devil is not in Angela Rayner’s name. But then anagrams don’t always give the full picture.
By the way ‘Remainer in chief’ anagrams to ‘I ire AI Frenchmen’. I think there’s something in this anagramming you know.
Deaths on Letby ward cast doubts on verdict
I have had my doubts myself. These were alleged murders of babies at the Countess of Chester Hospital. There are various articles on the concerns. I found this.
It says
A panel of experts has claimed that there is "no evidence" that the seven infants Lucy Letby is convicted of killing were murdered.
Letby, 35, from Hereford, is serving 15 whole-life orders after she was convicted at Manchester Crown Court of murdering seven infants and attempting to murder seven others, with two attempts on one of her victims, between June 2015 and June 2016.
The panel was Chaired by Dr Shoo Lee, a Professor of Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, who ended the conference by saying: "Ladies and gentleman, we did not find murders."
I gather the case against her was primarily from a doctor, Dewi Evans, the prosecution's main medical expert according to the BBC.
See
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ce8y28ny1n0o
I looked him up. This is him.

From
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dewi_Evans
I noted significantly the wiki article says
In 2013 Evans called for systematic vaccination of school children against measles.
Straightway this sounds alarm bells. Any doctor who thinks injecting the alleged cause of a disease and its accompanying toxic substances into a child is a good idea needs to be struck off.
Anyway as regards Lucy’s case the article talks about other issues with him.
Evans was an expert witness in the 2021 murder trial of a man later convicted of killing his 5 month old daughter, being able to rule out pneumonia as a potential cause of death in favour of a blunt force brain injury.
In 2022, Evans had written a report used in an application for permission to appeal to the Civil Division of the Court of Appeal in care proceedings. The Court of Appeal judge Lord Justice Jackson rejected the appeal on grounds that Evans's report was "worthless" and that he made "no effort to provide a balanced opinion". Jackson is quoted as saying:
Finally, and of greatest concern, Dr Evans makes no effort to provide a balanced opinion. He either knows what his professional colleagues have concluded and disregards it, or he has not taken steps to inform himself of their views. Either approach amounts to a breach of proper professional conduct. No attempt has been made to engage with the full-range of medical information or the powerful contradictory indicators. Instead the report has the hallmarks of an exercise 'working out an explanation' that exculpates the applicants. It ends with tendentious and partisan expressions of opinion that are outside Dr Evans' professional competence and have no place in a reputable expert report.
Not a ringing endorsement of the man. I gather the evidence against Lucy was circumstantial as no one witnessed her in action doing the alleged murders. Rather convenient for the hospital administrators and clinicians I feel.
As to Dewi Richard Evans, his full name, I tried anagrams. These are concerning:
- cadaverine wish dr
- hr ward deviancies
- aah sidewinder VCR
- ACS diehard wyvern
- avarice wide NHS dr
- shrewd avarice din
- adviser enrich wad
The wiki article also says
Reading about the investigation in the news, Evans contacted the National Crime Agency in May 2017 via email; he is quoted as writing "Incidentally I've read about the high rate of babies in Chester and that the police are investigating. ... Do they have a paediatric/neonatal contact? I was involved in neonatal medicine for 30 years including leading the intensive care set-up in Swansea. I've also prepared numerous neonatal cases where clinical negligence was alleged. ... If the Chester police had no-one in mind I'd be interested to help. Sounds like my kind of case."
There is a foot note link.
Bid to exclude evidence of prosecution medical expert was refused by judge
Friday 18 August 2023
It says the defence barrister
Mr Myers said to Dr Evans: “This is you putting yourself forward. In effect, touting for this job.”
Which Dewi Evans denied. He has been running his business, Dewi Evans Paediatric Consulting Ltd, since 2010. One can’t blame him for offering his services.
But one can blame him for promoting vaccines for children. Still he has that in common with a lot of other doctors.
Nevertheless, some of those earlier anagrams makes one wonder about his motivations.
By the way Cadaverine, part of an anagram phrase
is an organic compound with the formula (CH2)5(NH2)2. Classified as a diamine, it is a colorless liquid with an unpleasant odor. It is present in small quantities in living organisms but is often associated with the putrefaction of animal tissue. Together with putrescine, it is largely responsible for the foul odor of putrefying flesh, but also contributes to other unpleasant odors.
From
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadaverine
I think something stinks about this case. There should be a retrial as soon as possible.
For further discussion I recommend Cally Starforth’s substack. He has written various articles. Here’ a link.
And before I forget Dewi Evans has this at the top of his wiki page.
An editor has nominated this article for deletion.
You are welcome to participate in the deletion discussion, which will decide whether or not to retain it.
Feel free to improve the article, but do not remove this notice before the discussion is closed. For more information, see the guide to deletion.
I consider this highly suspicious. Who wants to hide the information? The police, the medical profession, the hospital, Dewi Evans himself?
Don’t let them delete the article.
Scots NHS spends £8 on 37p paracetamol packs
It says in 2023-24 there were nearly 2.3 million prescriptions for the drug. The cost to the taxpayer was more than £14 million with the dispensing fee to hand them out costing another £7 million, taking the total cost to over £21 million.
That makes it about £8.53 per prescription apparently. They actually can be bought for 37p in the supermarket, and checking on line this certainly is the case.
Let people buy the wretched things themselves; from my research I consider them a waste of time anyway. I did a post on paracetamol explaining why, see link at the end.
Online hate crime is not a priority for the public
No surprises there I hope. Public seems sensible even if politicians are not. However, according to the article 7% in a poll thought online hate crime should be in the top three priorities for police.
I wonder what the 7% actually do all day.
Anyway, the top three were murder, violent crime, rape and sexual assault for about two thirds of those polled.
One day the police might investigate the mass poisoning event of vaccinations. I live in hope.
SNP cools on cat ban proposal after critics sink their claws in
I gather the SNP or Scottish Nazi Party has back-tracked on a proposed ban on pet cats.
Apparently there was a report by the Scottish Animal Welfare Commission (SAWC). They want to have containment areas or even stopping owners having cats in some places to restrict the impact on bird and other wildlife.
It was Nicola Sturgeon who set up the commission in 2020 it says with a remit to look at the “welfare of sentient animals in Scotland”.
I suppose one can be grateful that human beings did not get labelled as sentient animals despite the belief of evolutionary theory that we arose from the apes.
Anyway, the charity Cats Protection said forcing cats to remain indoors would be detrimental to their health. There is some more information here.
SNP ministers consider ban on CATS and kitty curfew in latest madcap scheme
5 Feb 2025
https://www.scottishdailyexpress.co.uk/news/scottish-news/snp-ministers-consider-ban-cats-34598657
It says
Cats need to be able to perform natural cat-like behaviours if they're to live happy, healthy lives. These needs, like scratching and climbing, are more easily met in the outside world, where they can also enjoy the stimulation that comes with new smells, sights and sounds."
Very sensible. A pity nobody thought of that in 2020 when the government locked down its citizens.
People need the same experiences in the outside world; well okay, not necessarily scratching, but climbing trees or mountains and just interacting with others.
I see ‘The Scottish Animal Welfare Commission’ anagrams to
- Oh slim cats criminal waste of monies
Which is very good. However I especially like this.
- oh Ms Nicola’s criminals waste of time
Couldn’t have put it better if I tried.
Grandmother given HRT cream after doctors failed to spot cancer
This was a lady, Christine Candy in Southsea, Portsmouth, Hampshire who had visited doctors in March 2020. She was suffering abnormal bleeding and was eventually diagnosed with cancer in December 2020.
This link gives more detail about Christine.
It says
In 1996, Christine underwent a hysterectomy after abnormal cervical cells were found. Following her gynaecology appointment on 25 March, 2020, she was advised she would be contacted in four months’ time for a review. Christine contacted her GP again on 21 July 2020, who requested an urgent review at the clinic. It was also noted that Christine’s follow-up was due. However, she was informed that clinics were running behind.
Probably because they were being overwhelmed with Stupid 20 having fallen for the COVID 19. a.k.a. the ‘flu, scam.
But that’s the medical profession for you, not as bright as they would have you believe.
By the time it was diagnosed she had stage 4 cancer and considered “too late’. She died aged 70 in May 2023.
My wife and I have friend whose husband was diagnosed with, I believe, stage 4 bowel cancer around 2020. He avoided toxic chemotherapy and I understand went down the natural rout of nutrition. Consequently when it came to a review the tumour had shrunk considerably and was considered operable to remove without harm.
Perhaps Christine might have been healed even at that late stage. Whether she also had the COVID vaccines when they came out we don’t know.
Anyway there are too many stupid doctors around who don’t even understand the basics of disease and the causes.
I have just anagrammed ‘Christine Candy’. Don’t fall off you chair but this is the single longest word:
- hydrastinine
Ok, that won’t make you fall off your chair unless you are familiar with this drug but, wait for it, it is a haemostatic drug. And that, dear readers, means it essentially stops bleeding!!!
You can get a full phrase ‘cc hydrastinine’ so maybe she should have been given that.
Then there’s Stachydrine
inc stachydrine
Stachydrine, also known as proline betaine, is a naturally occurring alkaloid found in citrus, caper, chestnuts, alfalfa, Leonurus japonicus, Maclura tricuspidata, Stachys arvensis and Arisaema heterophyllum. It has been studied for its potential health benefits.
From
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stachydrine
Perhaps she should have eaten those things. Doctors won’t tell you this I’m sure.
NHS starts AI breast cancer screenings to boost diagnosis
And to boost big pharma’s profits no doubt. After all, if you boost the numbers of cancers found it means more treatments pushed whether needed or not.
AI is only as good as the programmers and their information. The government has a link about the program.
World-leading AI trial to tackle breast cancer launched
Published 4 February 2025
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/world-leading-ai-trial-to-tackle-breast-cancer-launched
It says
Nearly 700,000 women across the country will take part in a world-leading trial to test how AI tools can be used to catch breast cancer cases earlier.
I don’t know if anybody has asked the women if they want to do this.
Also
- Cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) trial to transform cancer care, helping radiologists catch breast cancer earlier
Cutting-edge artificial intelligence sounds like robotic surgeons to me.
- Trial announced this World Cancer Day, as government launches ‘call for evidence’ to shape new plan to cut lives lost to cancer
New plan eh? How about stop poisoning people with pharmaceutical products including vaccines.
- Plan for Change will put UK on the front foot, unleashing AI to drive up health services and shift NHS from analogue to digital as part of 10 Year Health Plan
Put UK on the front foot eh? Probably because the back foot has accidently on purpose been cut off. Unleashing AI does not fill me with confidence.
And 10 year plan sounds like the USSR. That never worked out too well either.
The AI in question is
The EDITH trial (Early Detection using Information Technology in Health) is backed by £11 million of government support via the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). It is the latest example of how British scientists are transforming cancer care, building on the promising potential of cutting-edge innovations to tackle one of the UK’s biggest killers.
Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Wes Streeting, has had cancer and has said:
With record numbers of people diagnosed with cancer, and Lord Darzi finding that cancer survival is worse in this country than our peers, I know that urgent action is needed to save lives and improve patient care.
Apparently vaccines saves lives according to the government. So more of the same type of action then. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.
Streeting had cancer in a kidney and had to have it removed. Only one more to go Wes, take care. Did you have the COVID vaccines? I hope not. Continuing
That’s why for World Cancer Day, I am committed to publishing a dedicated national cancer plan this year, to unleash Britain’s potential as a world leader in saving lives from this deadly disease and make the NHS fit for the future through our Plan for Change.
The national cancer plan is to increase cancer rates to help big pharma profits at our expense. Whether Wes Streeting is aware I don’t know but I doubt it. Politicians are not that bright.
According to his Wikipedia page he is a practising Anglican like Dominic Grieve. Oh dear…
The government link refers to a Lucy Chappell, a professor and Chief Scientific Adviser at DHSC and Chief Executive Officer of NIHR. She says re EDITH
It is another example of how NIHR research, shaped and funded by the public, is crucial for rigorously testing world-leading new technologies, such as AI, that can potentially save lives while reducing the burden on the NHS.
Rigorously testing world-leading new technologies like the mRNA vaccines for example. I hope dear readers you didn’t join the test program.
Again, this doesn’t bode well for EDITH. I gather
The government has committed to fixing the NHS and making it fit for the future as part of its Plan for Change.
Committed to fixing the NHS eh? They all say that.
Last week, the government pledged to speed up diagnosis and treatment for tens of thousands of cancer patients. From March 2026, around 100,000 more people every year will be told they have cancer or not within 28 days and around 17,000 more people will begin treatment within 2 months of a referral.
More people poisoned with big pharma products, oh goody, goody.
This comes as part of new targets from NHS England confirming 4 out of 5 patients would receive a diagnosis or be given the all-clear within 28 days of a cancer referral - an increase to 80% on the current target of 77%.
New targets eh? Something to aim for I suppose like a shooting range. Vaccines are administered as shots. Perhaps they are thinking of vaccines to help people like Larry ‘the looney’ Ellison in the USA.
The move will ensure that those with cancer are given the best chance of survival through earlier diagnosis and access to treatment.
‘Plan for Change’ anagrams to:
- Far GNP heal con
Sounds right so here is my Plan for Change for a start.
- get rid of vaccines
- stop fluoridation of the water supply
- stop toxic food additives such as nitrites and nitrates and artificial neurotoxic sweeteners.
One in three steals at self-service checkouts
I am not surprised, self-service checkouts are an invitation to steal for those who lack a sense of right and wrong.
Which includes the businesses from which people shoplift of course.
I hate the wretched things; I want a real person, not some stupid beeping electronic machine.
I want a person I might have a chat with, someone I recognise and pass the time of day if there is not a queue of people.
But even if there is, one can still chat as the items you are purchasing are scanned by the till assistant.
Of course the machines are ‘sold’ to us as helping speed up getting through the sales process. But that is just ignoring the fact that we have been increasingly rushing round like headless chickens, trying to live 24/7 lives.
It is a good excuse too to reduce staffing costs.
I say like Simon and Garfunkel’s The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy), ‘Slow down, you move too fast, you’ve got to make the morning last.’
This whole subservience to AI technology is dehumanising and obscene. Get rid of the self-service tills please.
