Sunday smirk - why did Jesus give the disciples fish for breakfast?
By Baldmichael Theresoluteprotector’sson
I am trying to complete a post on Samson. In the meantime I had this come to me the other day so I thought I would share it.
The story concerns the disciples after Jesus’s resurrection as recounted in the Gospel of John, chapter 21.
The disciples had been fishing during the night but caught nothing. In the morning Jesus stood on the shore but the disciples did not recognise him for sure, despite him being on the foreshore.
Jesus asked them if they had caught any fish to which they replied ‘No’. So he said “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.”
They did this and caught a great deal of fish. As a consequence Jesus was recognised and when they came to land he had prepared a barbeque with fish and bread.
Now the thing is that Jesus had foretold that he would do this, have fish ready for them.
This is because in the upper room before his betrayal in the Garden of Gethsemane he says “…would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a plaice for you?”!
P.S. You may think that is a load of cods-wallop but I hope it made you smile and lift your sole.
And don’t forget he had the bread ready too as he was well-bred!
And on Jesus being well-bred, he is of course well bread, the Bread of life so this link may be of interest if you haven’t seen.

More humour can be found in THE LAUGH ORDER, a heading in my World Menu on my WordPress site.
I have not added to it for a while but there are others. If you search for ‘humour’ you may find them if you have nothing better to do.
Seems Jesus did a lot of things that painted the picture of Salvation and the Gospel through His parables, teachings and actions.
Everything in the Bible leads back to Christ Jesus as He is the only one who can truly save !!!
