Very good reminder. I feel much better when I get out in the sun. I take a little zinc once in a while, but too much is bad. Vitamin D can replace a lot of 'supplements' that are made by man, that is for sure. Zinc sink? Hmmm, not sure about that one. Just like the pewter they used to eat and drink from. Didn't it turn out it was toxic to those people way back? Love the UK. It was my home for 2 precious years and I cherish my time there. Mom's family comes from Wales, the Salusburys. It was the greatest thing ever visiting their church in Denbigh. We lived in Woodstock back in the day and hubs worked on RAF Upper Heyford.

Fascinating! Re pewter, zinc is not part of the alloy although lead was which is toxic. You can check easily on Wikipedia. I was given a pewter mug as a child but I never cared to drink from it.

My wife and I went to stay recently with my sister near Banbury and parked at Tackley, a small village not so far from Upper Heyford, and then cycled to Bladon to see Winston Churchill's grave. I know the area quite well from cycling around.

I love Wales which I have visited on holiday for many years. I understand on my father's side I have Burgess as a family name in the past who came from Denbighshire too. My wife has cousins by marriage surname Salisbury with an 'I'.

With Zinc and vitamin D the two go hand in hand. Your body can't properly absorb Zinc without enough D. Neither can do what they are supposed to do without the other. Zinc is the second most common trace mineral in the body behind Iron and is used up and metabolized out rapidly. Definitely a good idea to supplement from a source you trust.

I zinc zu are zmart, Baldmichael! Another thing you can do to boost your immune system is some daily lymphatic drainage. “CancerRehabPT” on YouTube has a great little protocol to follow.

Thanks. I had a quick look and certainly interesting. People should take note. My own lymph node LHS neck seems to swell up every 3 days or so and then subside, rather like the emptying of the dustbin/garbage can.

For 3 1/2 years, my daily regimen has been:

Quercetin

Zinc

Multivitamin

C

5,000 D

Wild Krill oil.

No colds/flu or Covid.

I think it works.

I think it does too!

Had read an article in the Lancet, 2003, about the anti-viral benefits of hydroxychloroquine, the cheap anti-malarial drug. Had heard the benefits of zinc also in the mix. I think I understand that the hydroxychloroquine unlocks the cells for the zinc. But the strategy was never used in it's preventative application. Zinc and hyroxy- were to interfere with the virus taking a foothold in the cells. Waiting until a person was infected, until the virus had sufficiently replicated, it's getting too late for prevention strategies. The therapeutics were never given a chance. Thanks for your digging, Baldmichael.
