As I began the Gospel of John, I moved to reading also ΚΑΤΑ ΙΩΑΝΝΗΝ, and from it gain even more depth. Thus, your words strike me powerfully. Thus we can have erst via, essentially 'first way' and 'via rest'.
Then there is ser vita, ser means ‘to be’ in Spanish so 'to be life'.
It might seem somewhat over contived but English is full of words from other languages and in any event it makes sense of Jesus's words, "I am the way, the truth and the life."
What is interesting too is that the 'T' in veritas as in vita reminds me of the 'T', the 'tree' on which Jesus died. I did this little page on Truth on my WordPress site.
I didn't mention this in my comment of the morning, but I was delighted by your anagrams. The Latinist in me, you know. I could (should) certainly add Jerome's translation to my readings, but would have to do it as a print-out--and this does get cumbersome (phone for three, paper for one, book for one).
