Thanks, I now needn’t read the New Zealand Herald to try to understand who is who

and what is what. Their political situation is always diverse. Some say the governmental

structure is more similar to Germany than UK and Australia. In 1996 New Zealand adopted

the MMP (Mixed Member Proportional) system which they think gives the people more

opportunities to participate in decision making, providing greater freedom for all.

In September, 1893 New Zealand became the first self-governing nation in the world

where women had won the right to vote.

Thanks Fay. They have the German style voting system for parliament I understand and this tends to give more coalition governments. It didn't stop Jacinda Ardern's Labour government being dictatorial though.

No it didn’t stop her at all, she appeared to revel in the power she had with the

Covid issues. However, this eventually became her downfall.

This didn’t stop her from being Knighted though, as she is now Dame Jacinda Ardern.

It was similar in Australia during that time when PM Morrison very publicly kick out

Novak Djokovic from participating in the Australian Tennis Open.

Once that period evaporated both Ardern and Morrison were seen in a different light.

Their dialogue during Covid confused many.

Morrison and his Liberal Party have also lost power. He is now sitting on the backbench,

biding his time so he can eventually creep away without being noticed.
