I think Britain has always been an island of strangers, even before mass immigration.

Fair comment. Of course we are all immigrants in one sense, and immigration is how the earth was populated. Mass media and transport has reduced the strangers side but there are only so many people we can know, the rest will be strangers.

I meant more the British character. Its very difficult to make friends in England. I think its why we drink so much. Its the only way we can loosen up enough to talk to other people.

I see what you mean, but I don't drink lots of alcohol myself. There can be an island mentality, keeping onself to oneself, but that can apply to people even when not on an island surrounded by water.

So glad you included photographs.

Don't know what to think of Keir, but every photo he looks "stunned".

I happen to use % as a measure:

40% Scorpios

40% satan/devil

40% vegan

80% homosexual/queer, ...

80% female

Thanks Indrek. % probably would have been a better way to list them if I had thought of it, so glad you did.
