Cheers BM. Claptrap - yes it was! While every mindless, brainwashed person round here queued up for the flacon with the dragon that contained the pellet with the poison, nobody - not one person clapped, yelled, whooped, or hit pans. It was pleasantly quiet. Most days I was out putting the birds away at that time (likely soon not to be an issue when culling time starts with the scientists birdyfloo that doesn't exist) and I listened. I was very pleased! It was something that made me feel very uncomfortable and I saw people as performing seals. Then of course the dancing started - and people thought it was also wonderful how hard they were working but work time spent choreographing and practicing. Yeah, really rushed off their feet, with most of the wards depleted of beds. Made me angry. But Benny Hill (the Ernie character was based on a guy near here by the way) was so funny - Bob Todd being his usual daft self and Henry McGee the straight man. I love it when they all giggle and try and control themselves. Thanks for the memory - this lot in power - and the has beens - are all sirry iriots!
I don't recall anyone in my neck of the woods banging pots and pans, but then I am half deaf and I did not stand outside to check. My wife and I are on the edge of a village.
I loved Benny Hill, Bod Todd and Henry McGee. I thought of Benny and Henry when I did this. I don't want to keep pushing my posts but.....well, okay, perhaps I do! Not very long, from my WordPress site.
No problem, apart from the link at the bottom and I have ELO in my head now!
But it was all funny. Fred Scuttle, he who put his finger in his ear and went "ting a ling a loo"! Now I've tried doing that, but it didn't work too well.
Maybe the clap happy Dutch national is still holding a grudge against Great Britain after all these centuries and trying to drive everyone batty. Remember the Dutch-British wars?
I was in hospital for scheduled immuno-therapy in 2020 which I stopped once I realised what was really wrong with me. There was a youngish nurse who very carefully washed her hands, put on mask, rubber gloves AND a plastic face shield to attend to a lady's feet whilst the lady under went chemotherapy.
I refused to ever wear a mask in hospital and I despair of the medical profession.

Well said, especially your last line. And I know about mass murdering Governor Cuomo, glad you write to him..
