Never liked Old Bob - and boy he looks 30 older than me! Well he would, all that messing with the parasites doesn't seem to help them stay like Dorian Gray. I remember the demands - that just confirmed my opinion. As for dopey Boneo - another creep.

Can't quite see old Tedros singing "Rocking all over the World" although he's doing his best to be part of the taking over the world.

Still love the anagrams! Been a bit busy with the smallholding, so lots to catch up with when I can! Still trying to enjoy "normal" life for as long as we can.

Bono is starting to lose his mojo as people are wising up to him so he has a brain snap & decides to give his old mate, non tubber, Geldof a bell. Bono" "Hey Bobby how's it hanging, I've got an idea about running another charity slush fund but we need sponsors & supporters who are pro Bono; Stinky Bob" "Oh fuck off mate, they'll NEVER do it for free" click.

Bob Geldof, Boomtown Rats, never a fan.

U2 started promisingly, saw them live in Toronto in 1980 a couple of times, small venues, when they were a bar band.

Their shine wore off by mid-80's.

My point is, I wish "stars" / "celebrities" would stay in their own lane.

Couldn't care less what their "world views" are..

I liked the Boomtown Rats myself, U2 not so much. As you you say 'stay in their own lane'.

They become wealthy and part of the 'establishment', even Bob has a knighthood, yuck!

I saw U2 in London on their first British tour. First gig in Soho was brilluant, so much energy. Bonis zip in his leather trousers broke and he shouted at Adam to "keep up, give it all you've got". The last gig of the tour was at the Lyceum and they performed the EXACT same gig, Exactly identical to first gig. I walked out because I felt I had been had. Everything was choreographed - no need to respond to a real audience - they weren't really rockers. Some musician friends think I'm daft, as look how big U2 became but I feel it was all one big con, nothing genuine about it and I won't mention the Boy on the cover of that album

I never have given money to any charity organization. I always wondered who was really getting the money and would that money solve the real problem.

Why give a man a fish when you could just teach him to fish ???

I sympathise John. The bigger the organisation the more problematic it can become.

The song I Don't Like Mondays is based on an event I'm pretty sure was staged. I wonder if Bob knew.
